- Unchecking apps will remove them from LaunchPad. You can also reorder apps. It is simple, but it works. And, with that, it makes LaunchPad a more useful addition to the OS. Now you don’t have to keep everything in your Dock, or use Finder to manually type things.
- Part 1: How to Delete an App on Mac from Launchpad The first way we want to recommend to you is using Launchpad to uninstall program you don’t want from your Mac. The process is very similar to that of deleting an app on your iPhone or iPad.

It’s a nice utility and feature built into the Mac, but it does have some quirky behavior from time to time. One of those issues is that sometimes apps won’t appear in Launchpad at all, or perhaps when you delete an app it doesn’t disappear from Launchpad as it’s supposed to. Macs also have no way to uninstall or install operating system features, so there’s no way to easily remove the many applications Apple included with your Mac. On OS X 10.10 Yosemite and earlier, it was possible to open a terminal window and issue commands to delete these system apps, which are located in the /Applications folder.
Launchpad is the iOS-like application launcher that came to Mac OS X with the release of 10.7 Lion.
I want to love it, but in its present format its not perfect. One of the biggest issues I face its that it has every application on my hard drive, 8 pages worth. Not only does it have all my main apps but as an example it has 18 different Adobe uninstaller applications as well.

Remove Apps From Launchpad Macos
Launchpad can also be difficult and inconsistent when deleting apps from it. Apps that where purchased from the Mac App store can be easily deleted by holding the option key and once the icons start jiggling click the “X” shown in the corner of icons that you want to delete. Be careful as this also uninstalls the app from your hard drive. However applications that were not purchased from the Mac App store cannot be removed via the UI.
Using the command line there is a way to either remove all the apps or selectively remove apps from LaunchPad, regardless of where they where purchased. LaunchPad maintains a SQLite database. We can edit this database directly to remove any app or all apps we wish.

Using the Terminal again, the entire Launchpad database can be wiped free of all apps, giving you a fresh start. To do this, enter the following commands in the Terminal:

Note that there is no undoing this unless you have a backup of the database, once you have done this you will have to manually add any applications by dragging them into the Launchpad dock icon but at least you end up with a leaner Launchpad with just the apps you want. Pcunlocker iso download.
Hi,
No need to go into your library or tinker launchpad files. The simple solution:
1) Uninstall said program from its folder (Applications folder in my case). One minute manager in hindi free download.
2) If the icon still appears in Launchpad: Start Launchpad. Press (double click/tap) the icon as if opening the program. It should try to load, but since uninstalled it will instead soon show a '?' on it. Adobe creative cloud uninstall app mac. I had a similar problem for 2-3 years on three different laptops, I recall tinkering with the launchpad files as some users suggested. It happened recently on Mac OS Sierra with my Touch Bar MacBook Pro with the old Warcraft III from Blizzard store. https://mkbjil.weebly.com/blog/install-app-downloaded-mac. Funny how I never thought to actually press (not hold) the icon before. So simple - hope I've helped someone!
